How to get started?

Toronto‚Äôs J/105 fleet has been one the most stable and still growing one-design yacht racing classes on Lake Ontario.  With more than 23 boats on the water, an average 30+ race Season Series, and strong support from GTA local Yacht Clubs, local sailmakers and area yacht clubs, the J/105 class provides the ultimate in one-design racing excitement at an affordable price.  Get with the program and join the fun!

How do I get started? 

To join Fleet 4, you must be a member of the J105 National Class Association.  To join, go to the National class website in click on the MEMBERS tab.

There are 17 member boats at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club RCYC the largest keel boat racing fleet on the lake.  Other clubs hosting J/105's are: the Bolulevard Club, Mimico Cruising Club, Port Credit Yacht Club, Dalhousie Yacht Club on Western Lake Ontario.  Contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. Who can become a Fleet 4 J/105 Class Association member?

Membership is defined in the Class Articles of Association

In the case of two or more legal owners, each subsequent owner will also join by paying the annual membership fees in Canadian Funds. Further information on J/105 Class Membership is found at the J/105 Class Association website

How are memberships for the J/105 class processed?

Fleet 4 membership fees are blended to include the J/105 National fees and are due JANUARY 1st of each year.The 2012 fees remain unchanged from previous years.

Here's how you step-thru to process to join the Fleet 4 Association:

1. Contact the Fleet Captain to express your interest of joining the fleet; Here's a list of the current J/105 Fleet 4 members.

2. Consult the Articles of Association of the J/105 Fleet 4 (Lake Ontario), Additional information on the class, one design racing and fleets throught the world can be found at the J/105 Class Association website

Eligibility For Membership: A voting member for the J/105 Class Association, is the legal owner of a J/105 who complies with the class rules and whose annual dues have been paid ("Active Member"). A non-voting member is a family member, crew or other individual supporting the class with $60 annual dues ("Associate Member").
