2012 J105 Fleet4 Coaching - Max Skelley (U/S)

Ullman SailsJ105 Fleet4 Coaching Event with Max Skelley

In what promises to be one of the highlights of the 2012 season, and exclusive to the J105 Fleet 4 racing family, the Class Association has arranged to have Max Skelly, J/22 Worlds Champion, and  author of Ullman Sails J-105 Tip Sheet 2005 (U/S Tuning Guide).

The Class Association is delighted to have invited Max, for a series of coaching sessions to be held Friday May 11th at the RCYC City Club, and Saturday and Sunday at the RCYC Island.

Max will conduct a series of chalk-board and on-the-water sessions to highlight J/105 sailing, tactics and on-off the water preparation tips, including the full effect of rig tuning, possibly the key ingredient in assuring improved regatta results.

Max's sailing credentials and his loft's success in communicating via his tuning tips and speed testing specific to class sails, make this a not to be missed event, for skippers, tacticians and interested crew members.  Download event agenda:

2012 RCYC Midweek Racing

2012 RCYC Midweek Racing Starts

RCYC-MW-May 5-8-2012 6-40-26 PMStarcross' Michael Penny and 7 other RCYC boats joined the fray on the initial RCYC Midweek (MW) Spring series -Race 1.  In what portends to be a competitive season at the Island club, low wind speed and north-eastern wind direction did not deter sailors. The favourable temperature, balmy by early season standards, should favour the Fleet 4 first major regatta at the always fun ABYC, coming up in less than two weeks.  Here are the first MW results: RCYC Midweek Results

Hey Jude - Outstanding at Annapolis NOOD

Hey Jude - CAN110 - RCYCIt is not just a spring tradition for Jim Rathbun's Hey Jude, early spring racing at Annapolis, it is a burning desire to compete at a high level, and to bring that competitive spirit early into the Fleet 4 racing season.  This year's outing to Annapolis was extra special as Hey Jude handily won the 2012 edition of the NOOD regatta, outclassing the local competitors.

Hey Jude, has been a top competitor at all the regional or national events she has participated in the last few years showing remarkable consistency always finishing on the top ranks. Jim and his crew have been outstanding representatives of the great level of racing practiced at Fleet 4. We expect his outstanding result will motivate  others to try their talents at away events and their experience will make our fleet even stronger. Way to go Jim!

Here the events final results. 2012 Nood
