Mandate 1st, Jamaica Me Crazy 2nd, Sonic Boom 3rd
2015 saw a beautiful weekend of racing at the Founders Regatta.
Weather was near perfect with clear skies both days. A lightish wind on Saturday allowed the fleet to get 2 races in before the breeze switched almost 180 degree and looked like it was dying. The RC made a good call to abandon racing for the day.
After day one the two most consistent boats were Mandate and Jamaica Me Crazy each boat finishing both races in first and second respectively.
Sunday was even better wind and it stayed pretty consistent throughout the day allowing the fleet to get three races in.
The second race on Sunday created a challenge for quite a few of the boats who didn’t notice the location of the green windward marks and significantly overstood the layline - on Sonic Boom, the crew responsible are expected to receive twenty lashes each (unless they bring the beer for the next month!).
All in all, the Founders Regatta remains one of the most pleasant, low key events on our schedule and this year was no exception. Even the food (and the price) got great reviews.
