Jamaica Me Crazy
JMC, wins the Ashbridge's Bay Yacht Club regatta after 4 races on Saturday May 23rd. In near perfect conditions, with winds 10-15 kts flat seas, building towards the end of the racing day and outstanding Race Comittee work from ABYC/RCYC combined crews. Sunday races were scrapped after the wind failed to show up for the 2nd day of the ABYC Regatta.
The RC managed a business like four races of 1 to 1.2 miles starting on a bearing of 200 and moving to the left between 20 and 30degrees throughout the day. JMC's advantage today was noticible, with excellent results (two bullets, a 3rd and 4th), clearly ahead of the rest of the fleet. In contrast to the two next two boats, H-Bomb's Russell Hopper which used a contrarian strategy, to convicingly earn two bullets as a 9th and 4th place. Bill Bevan/Paul Martini's Endeavour was a close third behind H-Bomb just three points H-Bomb, showing great consistency with a 3rd and 3 fifth places. Rounding of the first five were True Blue and Sonic Boom. Albeit short by one racing day ABYC turned out to be an awesome day for unaccoustomed crews, well done!
